About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join GamCare at a time of continued service development, working at the intersection of gambling treatment and the criminal justice system.
We are recruiting a Probation Pathway Manager to lead the operational delivery of our Probation Innovation Strand – a specialist treatment pathway designed to improve access, engagement and outcomes for individuals under Probation supervision.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership across a complex, multi-agency justice and treatment landscape, ensuring the pathway is safe, effective, trauma-informed and responsive to the needs of justice-involved cohorts.
The role will focus on:
Designing, mobilising and continuously improving the probation pathway
Strengthening referral routes and continuity of care across custody and community settings
Working with Probation, HMPPS and wider partners to improve engagement and service integration
Using data, insight and lived experience to drive learning, performance and service development
You will operate across internal directorates and external systems, building strong partnerships and leading innovation in an evolving and complex operating environment.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced Service Manager with a strong background in health, social care or VCSE services. You will bring:
Demonstrable experience managing complex services and multidisciplinary teams
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to support and develop managers
Experience of working in commissioned services, including performance management and reporting, and stakeholder management
A sound understanding of safeguarding, governance and quality standards
Confidence in using data, performance information and insight to inform decision-making and drive improvement
You will be an excellent communicator and relationship-builder, able to influence across systems and work effectively with stakeholders where awareness or engagement with gambling treatment services may vary.
Experience in gambling harms, addiction, mental health or related services is desirable, alongside experience of service improvement, transformation or partnership working
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the safe, effective and coordinated delivery of the Probation Innovation Strand, ensuring the pathway is embedded across internal services and external justice partners.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading mobilisation, delivery and ongoing development of the probation pathway, ensuring it remains responsive to operational learning, service demand and the needs of justice-involved cohorts.
Providing day-to-day oversight of pathway delivery, including referral flows, caseload activity, service quality, risk management and escalation processes.
Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Probation teams, community partners and internal GamCare directorates to support integrated pathways and continuity of care.
Ensuring safeguarding, governance, clinical quality and information-sharing requirements are understood, embedded and consistently applied across the pathway.
Monitoring performance, outcomes and operational data to identify themes, address barriers, support reporting requirements and inform continuous improvement.
Supporting the development of guidance, processes and shared learning that enable consistent practice across treatment and criminal justice settings.
The postholder will also contribute to service planning, partner engagement and internal reporting, helping to evidence impact and strengthen the pathway as it develops.
This will require a practical, collaborative approach and the ability to translate strategic aims into clear operational processes and measurable improvements.
