Salary: £69,138 to £75,441 per annum (plus, ILW if applicable)

  • This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading international humanitarian organisation, helping to design and transform the organisation to deliver Strategy 2030. The principal consultants form a part of the Transformation and Change team, working across the organisation as well as with the Executive and Senior Leadership to drive the design of business and operating models. 

    You will work with experts within the organisation as well as bringing external insight to provide critical challenge and support regarding the key strategic choices and implications to enable conscious, proactive design within directorates and across the organisation.  

    You will bring a strategic, analytical mindset and a passion for unpacking complex and varied challenges with the aim of helping ensure the British Red Cross (BRC) is effectively meeting the needs of those in crisis within an ever changing and complex environment.

    A day in the life of a Principal Consultant will involve:

    • Every day is different. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders across a diverse organisation on a range of strategic initiatives, providing a unique opportunity to understand the entire value chain.

    • Working with the project sponsor to understand and support strategic decisions, understanding goals, context, constraints, dependencies.

    • Working with colleagues in transformation and change (project managers, change managers, business analysts) to scope and deliver work.

    • Work with colleagues across the organisation – from C suite to front line and staff and volunteers.

    • Workshopping (virtual and in person) to really understand and unpack complex problem spaces.

    • Analytical work regarding strategies, external context, business models, financial models and operating models.

    • Developing and presenting options appraisals along with pragmatic implementation pathways for delivery.

    • Working at pace on priority initiatives within a changing landscape.
