    About us

At Halfords, our mission is to inspire and support a lifetime of motoring and cycling. As a specialist retailer, we lead the market through customer-driven innovation and a distinct product range. We are dedicated to providing our customers with an integrated, unique, and convenient service experience—from e-bike and electric vehicle servicing to on-demand solutions. Our commitment is to foster customer loyalty by offering compelling reasons to keep coming back to our stores, ensuring a lifetime of motoring and cycling enjoyment.

Halfords is quickly becoming a digital services business. In addition to being a leading UK retailer, Halfords has now developed a market leading field service management platform that enables businesses to deliver their complex services to customers through an end-to-end digital solution. The platform is deployed throughout Halfords stores, garages and their mobile business.  The platform has now been taken to market to enable other businesses in our sector and other industries globally to deliver market leading service delivery and an unrivalled customer experience. This SaaS division is called Avayler (Avayler.com).

As the leading global Garage Management and Mobile Van software platform, we help customers become operationally efficient and compliant through our advanced technology. We were born in 2020 and whilst we are a division of Halfords, the No 1 provider of motoring and cycling products, we are a stand-alone entity.

At Avayler, we truly are striving to become a global company, targeting both the USA and European markets and we are scaling our business at a pace, so if you’re willing to get stuck in, you’ll love it here too. So put yourself at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced working environment where expertise and focus take people far.

    The role

As Training Manager at Avayler, you’ll take ownership of designing and building a scalable training approach that enables our Customer Success teams to confidently onboard and educate clients on our platform. You will start with a blank slate, defining the vision, structure, and success measures for how training is delivered across the business. You’ll create the tools, content, and processes that make training simple, repeatable, and effective for both internal teams and customers through a blend of facilitated sessions and self-serve learning.

You’ll work closely with Operations, Product, and Customer Success teams to turn complex platform capability into clear, practical learning experiences. From writing detailed training manuals and building e-learning content, to introducing new tools and learning methods, you’ll ensure training scales in line with product releases and real client feedback. You’ll also act as the bridge between training and product improvement, logging usability insights and issues surfaced through sessions to continuously improve the customer experience.

This is a high-impact role in a growing business where you’ll have the autonomy to shape how learning is done at Avayler. Your work will directly influence how confidently our teams support customers and how easily clients adopt our technology. It’s an opportunity to build something from the ground up, put your stamp on a critical function, and create a training framework that scales with the business over time.

    Key responsibilities

    • Create high-quality training materials including manuals, guides, presentations, and e-learning content

    • Equip Customer Success teams with clear tools and processes to deliver consistent, effective training

    • Introduce and manage self-serve learning resources for clients

    • Define training success measures and evaluate effectiveness through feedback and performance data

    • Keep training content aligned with product updates, releases, and real client use cases

    • Capture usability feedback and issues raised during training and feed this back to Product and Operations

    • Coordinate and support delivery of training sessions, workshops, and learning resources

    • Assess and introduce new learning tools, methods, and best practices

    • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, and Customer Success to ensure training supports business goals

    About you

    • Proven experience creating training documentation, manuals, and structured learning content from scratch

    • Strong instructional design capability with experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools

    • Confident communicator and presenter, able to translate complex product functionality into simple, practical learning

    • Analytically minded, with the ability to define success measures and use feedback and data to continuously improve training effectiveness

    • Proactive and self-sufficient, comfortable working autonomously while keeping stakeholders informed

    • Collaborative and people-centric, with demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills

    • Practical problem-solver who can identify issues during training and turn them into actionable improvements

    Reward & benefits

    • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.

    • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.

    • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.

    • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
