Salary: £26,000 per annum

    The team

    • An exciting opportunity to join our Marketing, Digital, and Technology department during a period of growth that is driving our digital transformation.

    • Our team is made up of experts across our offices in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff Belfast and Suffolk.

    • Our approach places the end user at the core of our design and development processes, ensuring adherence to best practices in UX, CX, accessibility, usability, as well as data management, content creation, and software engineering.

    The role  

    • As Junior UX Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of our UX strategy across a range of digital products and services.

    • You’ll assist a talented team of digital professionals and work closely with stakeholders to ensure user needs are at the heart of everything we create. 

    • Your focus will be on supporting a consistent, user-centred design culture throughout the organisation - from early research and ideation to final product delivery and continuous improvement.

    • You’ll work closely with a team in establishing best-in-class UX processes, supporting user research and usability testing, growing a strong digital design system, and championing accessibility and inclusivity in all our digital interactions.

     What you’ll do  

    • Support the team in enhancing UX design standards, including accessibility best practices.

    • Help update and refine user-centered design principles and processes to ensure designs meet user needs and expectations.

    • Assist in creating wireframes, user journeys and interactive prototypes to visualise and test design concepts.

    • Support the development of user personas and storyboards to improve user experiences.

    • Assist in planning and conducting usability testing and research, gathering and analysing user feedback to inform design decisions.

    • Work with stakeholders to define user-centric, end-to-end service designs and refine visual and interactive elements of digital products.

    • Contribute to the corporate digital design system and maintain design documentation.

    • Stay up to date with UX trends and best practices to enhance skills and contribute to the team's capabilities.

     

    What you’ll bring  

    • Demonstrated experience in UX design and conducting user research to inform design decisions.

    • A willingness to grow your understanding of user-centered design principles and usability testing to create intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify and address design challenges effectively.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate design ideas clearly to stakeholders and team members.

    • Passion for designing accessible digital experiences and an appetite to gain greater knowledge of web accessibility standards.

    • Eagerness to stay up to date with UX trends and best practices, and adapt to new tools and methodologies to enhance skills and contribute to the team's capabilities.
