Contract: Freelance Short-Term Independent Contractor Project
About the Role
This is an excellent freelance opportunity for two experienced educators and Content Writers who enjoy balancing high-quality curriculum development with efficient, independent delivery.
As a Freelance Content Writer, you will work independently to bring the primary Art and Design curriculum to life in an outdoor context, drafting engaging, curriculum-aligned educational materials. You will take complete ownership of a set allocation of assigned deliverables (consisting of PowerPoint presentations, vocabulary/word cards, and activity sheets) over a fixed period. To make content creation smooth and efficient, you will be provided with all relevant templates and style guides. Because this is a pure freelance-based contract, you can work flexibly to meet the deadlines; you will receive the full project payment upon successful completion of the work, whether it takes you the allotted time period or less.
We are currently looking for two Freelance Content Writers to join our Content Development team, with each writer taking independent ownership of one key thematic area:
Content Writer One: 6 deliverables: Project Fee: £160 Fixed Fee
Early Years - Writer Assignment A (Art Outdoors - Foundation Stage): Take ownership of creating content focused on teaching objectives from the new Northern Ireland Art and Design framework in an outdoor learning context for Foundation Stage pupils. Deliverables: 2 PPTs, 2 Activity Sheets, 2 sets of Vocabulary/Word Cards – Total: 6 resources.
Execute high-quality educational content writing that directly aligns with the 2014 National Curriculum and follows provided Twinkl style guides.
Manage your own schedule and delivery timeline independently to ensure all 6 assigned resources are completed by the agreed project deadline.
Content Writer Two: 12 deliverables: Project Fee: £340 Fixed Fee
KS1/KS2 - Writer Assignment B (Art Outdoors - KS1 and KS2): Take ownership of creating content focused on teaching objectives from the new Northern Ireland Art and Design framework in an outdoor learning context for KS1 and KS2 pupils. Deliverables: 4 PPTs, 4 Activity Sheets, 4 sets of Vocabulary/word Cards – Total: 12 resources.
Execute high-quality educational content writing that directly aligns with the 2014 National Curriculum and follows provided Twinkl style guides.
Manage your own schedule and delivery timeline independently to ensure all 12 assigned resources are completed by the agreed project deadline.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We are looking for independent freelancers who combine deep knowledge of primary Art & Design teaching expertise with a self-motivated, structured approach to meeting project deadlines.
You’ll bring:
Essential: A formal primary teacher qualification e.g. BEd, PGCE or equivalent alternative.
Essential: Proven teaching experience of primary Art & Design and/or Outdoor Learning roles.
Essential: A permanent residency in the UK.
Essential: Your own tools, including a reliable computer, stable internet connection, and standard word processing software.
How We’ll Look After You
Please Note: Because this is a short-term, independent freelancer project, standard permanent employee benefits (such as healthcare cash plans, enhanced parental leave, and annual leave allowances) do not apply to this contract.
Instead, we offer independent contractors:
Complete Flexibility: The freedom to choose your own working hours and structure your time, provided project deadlines are met.
Streamlined Payments: A guaranteed fee paid promptly upon the successful completion and sign-off of your project deliverables.
Global Impact: The opportunity to add an international, award-winning educational publisher to your freelance portfolio.
Closing Call to Action
If you are a freelancer excited by the opportunity to shape educational content and want to partner with a purpose-driven global brand, we would love to see your application.
