Salary: £57,000-£66,500 depending on experience

A bit about the role
In this new role for Action for Children, the Head of Philanthropy & Events, will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious strategy for maximising high-value fundraising which drives and delivers immediate and long-term, compounding income growth across Major Donors, Trusts & Foundations and Events functions.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Developing and leading a multi-year, audience-led high-value fundraising strategy.
Leading and developing a high-performing, inclusive team.
Leading the development of compelling, insight-led propositions and securing transformational support from Major Donors and Trusts & Foundations
Steering a high-performing Events portfolio.
Driving excellent cultivation and stewardship strategies that deepen engagement, increase retention, and maximise lifetime supporter value.
Providing clear prioritisation, strategic direction, and performance-focused leadership across the Philanthropy & Events portfolio by setting stretch income targets, performance metrics, priorities and KPIs.
Leading cross-organisational collaboration including influencing at a senior level and working in close partnership with other Fundraising teams, Digital, Brand, Data, Communications and Children Services.
Let's talk about you
Must have proven experience of leading high-value fundraising functions in a complex organisation, with accountability for strategy, income, and performance.
Must have a strong track record of seven-figure gifts from Trusts & Foundations/Major Donors and of delivering commercially successful fundraising Events.
Must have demonstrable experience of setting strategic direction and leading teams to deliver on immediate income targets.
Must have established commercial and financial acumen, including experience of managing large budgets, long- and short-term forecasting, driving ROI and investment decision-making based on data and insight.
Must have experience of building and managing proposals and pipelines across Major Donors and Trusts & Foundations.
Must have excellent communication and influencing skills.
Experience of leading and developing high-performing teams.
