Shire Healthcare is supporting an international provider of HR and psychological services as they expand their UK Educational Psychology offering.

Role Overview
We are seeking an HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist to deliver high-quality statutory assessments, with a particular focus on EHCP work.
This position offers a structured and supported model of working, where you will collaborate closely with a Junior Educational Psychologist who will assist with assessment processes. You will take a lead role in reviewing, analysing, and finalising reports, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based outcomes.
It is an excellent opportunity for an EP looking for flexibility alongside career progression, with the chance to take on increasing responsibility as the service grows.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory / EHCP Work
Lead on psychological input for EHC Needs Assessments
Review and finalise assessment data gathered by a Junior EP
Produce high-quality statutory advice reports in line with local authority requirements
Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations, including Section F provision
Work within statutory timelines (20-week EHCP process)
Assessment & Oversight
Interpret cognitive, behavioural, and emotional assessment data
Ensure robust, accurate formulation of needs (e.g. learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, SEMH)
Provide professional oversight and guidance to junior team members
Collaboration
Work with local authorities, schools, parents, and legal professionals
Contribute to a collaborative and developing multidisciplinary approach
Reporting
Produce and sign off high-quality reports for EHCP processes and SEND tribunals
Maintain accurate, compliant case records
Essential Requirements
HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist
Experience completing EHCP/statutory assessments
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines
Enhanced DBS (online/registered DBS preferred)
Desirable Experience
Experience with SEND tribunals or expert witness work
Experience in supervising or supporting junior colleagues
Background in independent/private practice
Experience delivering remote assessments
