As a Junior Underwriting Analyst, you’ll play a key supporting role within the Underwriting Analysis team.
Working closely with the Senior Underwriting Analyst and Technical Underwriting Manager, you’ll provide the analytical insight to help evaluate underwriting risks and opportunities, while collaborating with Pricing and Product teams to support strategic initiatives.
This is a development-focused opportunity designed to give you broad exposure across underwriting and pricing, building your technical capability and commercial understanding as you progress towards an Underwriting Analyst role.
What we look for in you as a Junior Underwriting Analyst
Strong analytical mindset – You’re confident working with data, spotting trends and applying logical problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
Confident with Excel and core office tools – You’re comfortable manipulating data and supporting analysis using spreadsheets and standard platforms.
Clear communicator – You can present findings in a structured, easy-to-understand way, both written and verbally.
Collaborative and proactive – You work well independently while also contributing positively within cross-functional teams.
Keen to develop in insurance – You have a genuine interest in underwriting and are motivated to work towards a professional qualification such as CII.
What you’ll get up to as a Junior Underwriting Analyst
Support underwriting analysis by identifying trends, risks and opportunities within portfolio data.
Assist in maintaining and validating underwriting models using statistical and analytical techniques.
Analyse customer feedback and complaints data to help improve consumer outcomes and support good customer governance.
Produce reports and presentations that communicate insights clearly to underwriting, pricing and wider business stakeholders.
Monitor key performance indicators and collaborate with Pricing, Product, Marketing, Operations and Compliance to support effective, well-governed underwriting practices.
