The role
Part of the Technology., Innovation and Insight team, the Director of Technology, Innovation and Insight is a new and exciting role at Migrant Help. You will responsible for the performance, coordination and continuous improvement of Migrant Help's Technology, Innovation and Insight directorate.
The Director is responsible for translating strategic objectives into deliverable plans, maintaining oversight of directorate performance, and ensuring that technology, insight and change capabilities deliver measurable value and security to the organisation. The role provides operational leadership and delivery assurance across the directorate, enabling the CIO to focus on enterprise strategy, governance, organisational risk, innovation and executive leadership.

Role responsibilities
Lead and coordinate activity across Technology, Analytics and PMO in ways that provide best possible outcomes for Migrant Help’s clients and commissioners.
Translate TII’s strategic priorities into integrated plans, projects, objectives and delivery roadmaps.
Drive directorate performance, accountability and learning-based improvement.
Chair directorate leadership forums and ensure effective governance and decision-making.
Provide assurance and evidence-based reporting and advice to the CIO and senior leadership teams.
Deputise for the CIO as required in governance fora (SLT, Finance and Audit Committee).
Provide strategic leadership of Migrant Help's technology services and products through the management of the Technology team, and line management of the Head of Technology.
Ensure technology, analytics and project delivery activities are aligned to organisational priorities.
Oversee prioritisation, resource planning and budget-aligned delivery across the technology estate and whole TII directorate.
Maintain oversight of major initiatives, risks, dependencies and opportunities.
Promote evidence-based decision making through effective use of data and insight.
Take ownership of safe, ethical and effective AI/agentic adoption including innovation, governance, assurance, capacity building, risk management and influencing.
Lead a revolution in the quality of knowledge management systems and behaviours.
Maintain oversight of risks, controls and assurance activity across the directorate as Chair of the TII Leadership Group, and provide clear, evidence-based reporting to the executive as a standing member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Ensure compliance with relevant organisational, contractual and regulatory requirements (Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001).
Oversee significant supplier relationships and support investment and commercial decisions.
Contribute to budget management, workforce planning and business case development.
Nurture a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing culture across TII, supporting and developing leaders and teams.
Build strong, mutually-trusting relationships with TII’s stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and commissioners.
Act as a trusted advisor on technology, innovation, insight and delivery matters, including through representing TII and Migrant Help externally.

The experience and skills you need
Significant senior leadership experience within a technology, digital, data, transformation or information security service delivery environment in a 300+ person / circa £50m organisation.
Experience leading complex programmes, portfolios or organisational change.
Proven ability to translate strategy into operational delivery and measurable outcomes.
Strong understanding of governance, risk management and organisational performance
