  • About Emerging Futures CIC

Emerging Futures began in 2014, born from a belief that recovery is possible for everyone, and that those who have walked that path should lead the way forward.

From modest beginnings, Emerging Futures expanded across the UK, to a growing and diverse team of staff and volunteers, many with lived experience themselves. Offering support to people affected by homelessness and drug and alcohol use, Emerging Futures has helped thousands through housing, coaching and therapeutic programmes.

Using compassion and courage, Emerging Futures believes that recovery is not just a word, it’s a promise that anything is possible. Together, we’re working for a world where everyone has somewhere to live, something to do, and someone to love.

The role oversees supported housing for people experiencing homelessness and substance use, as well as community‑based coaching, peer support, and therapeutic programmes.

The postholder will lead large, geographically dispersed services through change and growth, using a compassionate, trauma‑informed, and values‑led approach alongside strong accountability and data‑driven decision‑making. At a pivotal time for the organisation, the role focuses on strengthening systems, leadership capability, and assurance in response to regulatory change and organisational learning.

This is a home‑based role with significant national travel, providing visible leadership and building strong relationships across diverse, remote teams.

    About you

You will have significant senior operational leadership experience within a large, complex, multi-site organisation as well as substantial supported housing operational experience. You should also have:

    • Strong safeguarding leadership experience, including complex and contextual safeguarding.

    • Experience of managing nationally across dispersed teams and geographies.

    • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

    • Experience of supporting and managing teams and volunteers with lived experience.

    • Demonstrable experience of financial accountability, including occupancy, budgets and operational spend.

    • Proven track record of implementing organisational and cultural change programmes.

    • Experience of leading services supporting people with lived experience and complex needs.
