Location: Working from home and various residential locations across the UK.

Temporary: Freelance, temporary contract. We will review the role in August 2026, with the view of extending the contract.

Working hours: The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) will join our team on a freelance basis, committing to the following dates: ▪ 8 March 2026 ▪ 6-10 April 2026 ▪ 3-6 July 2026 The DDSL may be asked to support the management team with additional hours between March and July 2026, which can be flexible around any other work you may have.

Salary: £234 per project day, £198.64 per planning day. All travel, accommodation and subsistence is provided as per our policy.

  • Orchestras for All seeks a Freelance Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) who can bring their knowledge and experience of child protection and safeguarding to its core team at National Orchestra for All (NOFA) events across the UK.

    We would encourage applications from individuals with experience of supporting young people with Adverse Childhood Experiences, Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges and neurodivergent young people.

    The successful candidate will be driven by the ongoing need to support young people to overcome their personal challenges as well as believe in the positive impact that making music with others can have on their lives.

    We especially encourage individuals with backgrounds and life experiences similar to the young people we support to apply, particularly those who are underrepresented in our team and the wider orchestral sector.
