Salary: £24,612 to £26,860

About the role
This role will support our Data and Insights Manager to deliver the Young Scot data and insight service. You will transform data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. You will work closely with teams across the organisation to develop high-quality dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau and Excel. Combining analytical expertise, data visualisation, stakeholder engagement and data storytelling, you will ensure information is accurate, accessible and meaningful for both technical and non-technical audiences.

The successful candidate will have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, an interest in data visualisation and some knowledge of the public and third sectors in Scotland.
What you’ll be doing from day-to-day:
Working with teams across the organisation to identify key data, insight and intelligence to be gathered.
Maintaining and updating datasets on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. These will include social media and web reporting, as well as enquiry ticket management.
Collating, cleaning and processing data for reporting
Preparing data and producing regular reports for internal staff teams
Preparing data and producing regular reports for external stakeholders and partners, including local authority partners
Preparing and reporting on surveys for a variety of partner organisations
Performing data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability of reports.
Identifying opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Good knowledge of using Office365, particularly Excel
While training may be available, knowledge and experience of data visualisation software such as PowerBi would be an advantage.
