FoodCycle has ambitious plans to grow the number and value of its corporate partnerships. This role will provide additional capacity within the Corporate Fundraising team to find new opportunities, develop relationships as well as supporting existing partners, with a particular emphasis on turning activity into a measurable pipeline of prospective supporters.
The Corporate Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships across both new business and account development. The role will research and approach prospective partners, help secure calls and meetings, support proposals and pitches, and manage an agreed portfolio of corporate relationships. It will also provide the systems and follow-through needed to steward opportunities from first contact and a meaningful next step.
A key part of the role will be making corporate acquisition activity more transparent. We want to understand not only the income ultimately secured, but the activity that creates it. The postholder will accurately record prospects identified, approaches made, calls, meetings, proposals and outcomes so that the team can see what is working, where opportunities are progressing and where more activity is needed.
The role will work seamlessly with the new Team FoodCycle function which supports the mission of the charity through a programme of income-generating corporate cooking challenges – ‘Food Invention Challenges’. Food Invention Challenges can create valuable corporate leads which will be handed into the Corporate Fundraising team for development, while the Corporate team will identify companies for whom a Food Invention Challenge could be a useful way to open or deepen a relationship. This is an opportunity to develop broad corporate fundraising experience while working closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships on a growing area of FoodCycle’s income.
