Communications Manager

Employer: Birthrights

Location:  Home-based UK resident. Able to travel 4 — 6 times a year for team meetings and events in London or other national cities as required by the role, reasonable travel expenses will be covered.

Temporary: This is a maternity cover post of up to 1 year fixed term, with a two months notice period  

Working hours: 30 hours per week based on a 37.5 hour working week. Core working hours are 10am — 3pm and will need to overlap with the whole team at least one day per week.  

Salary: £40,000 FTE ( £32,000 per annum pro rata)   

Closing date: 12pm (noon) on the 6 of April, 2026

  • As our Communications Manager (Maternity Cover), you will:

    • Lead the delivery of Birthrights’ communications strategy

    • Drive integrated communications for campaigns, policy and advocacy work

    • Manage media relations and engagement

    • Oversee Birthrights’ communications channels

    • Promote and grow engagement with key audiences

    • Ensure all communications centre racial justice and reflect the voices of those most affected by inequality
