Business Analyst / Process Improvement Specialist
Map how we work today. Shape how we work tomorrow.
The Aurora Group is undertaking a major programme of operational improvement to understand how our services operate today and to design simpler, more consistent and future‑ready ways of working, supported by emerging technology such as AI.
Our ambition is to build the foundations for the “Education Organisation of the Future”, enabling great outcomes for learners through stronger processes, excellent data and well‑supported staff.
With AI enabling improved possibilities, we are seeking a remote based Business Analyst / Process Improvement Specialist to play a key role in this journey. The role focuses on mapping operational processes across the Group and redesigning them with innovation in mind.
The role
Working across schools, colleges and central teams, you will review how work is currently done, document and analyse end‑to‑end processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to design clear, agreed future‑state ways of working.
Your work will ensure that all future solutions are built on robust, well‑understood operational foundations that will improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality
This role does not select or implement systems or AI tools; instead, it provides the vital insight and structure that allows those decisions to be made effectively.
What you will focus on
Mapping and documenting current “as is” processes
Designing clear, consistent “to be” processes
Identifying inefficiencies, duplication, risk and compliance gaps
Supporting strong data quality, MIS alignment and reporting
Enabling organisational readiness for AI and automation
Embedding a culture of continuous process improvement
What we are looking for
You will bring strong analytical and facilitation skills, with experience in improving processes (ideally in complex and/or regulated environments).
You will have:
Proven experience mapping and improving operational processes across multi‑site organisations
Strong process mapping capability using BPMN, Lean or similar
Confidence engaging stakeholders and leading workshops
An understanding of MIS, data flows and reporting dependencies
A structured, methodical approach to improvement and change
PRINCE2 Practitioner status or equivalent experience
