England Athletics is a membership organisation with c1,928 member clubs/bodies and c174,000 registered athletes, which exists to provide services and support to its members and to promote and deliver athletics and running activities across all ages, event disciplines, ability levels and aspirations; and to give support to the wider sport where there are more than 6m who run each month in England, 2,251 licensed road races and 244,000 active RunTogether participants operating in more than 3,439 groups.

The Role:
A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics on a permanent contract for a Board & Council Secretary, to support the England and Regional Councils.
Requirements of the role will include:
providing high-level governance and secretariate support to the Board of Directors, Statutory sub committees, Task & Finish Groups and England Council.
ensuring that EA remains compliant with all statutory requirements and ensure there is a strong governance framework in place and follows governance best practice and works towards continual improvement in line with the mandatory sports governance code.
to draft Board reports and AGM requirements working with the CEO, Company Secretary, Finance Team, Auditors and legal providers.
responsible for supporting the various Chairs to ensure meetings operate well, take formal minutes, maintain a log of key decisions produce action lists, track actions arising and ensure follow-up is actioned.
support NED recruitment, induction and the administration of the biennial Regional Council election process, working with the Member Services Manager and external electoral services,
support the planning and coordination of the annual England Council Conference (October) working with the Executive Support & Events Manager.
Act as the main contact for incoming Board and Council enquiries.
The individual should have significant experience in a similar role, who is confident in giving advice on procedural matters as well-developed report writing, minute taking and organisational skills.
